Anthony Formal Wear is a family run business that have prided themselves on providing high quality Grooms wedding suits and accessories since the business opened in Essex in 1968, and it is still currently run by the original family.

Our Story
Having started life out as a high class men’s retail store, Anthony Formal wear made the addition of wedding hire at the end of the 1970’s. We soon realized that there was only a limited selection of Grooms waistcoats and accessories being offered to buy or hire. Which is why we decided to start designing and manufacturing our own ranges and collections.
We now design in house and source all of our own fabrics from within the UK and Northern Europe. This allows us to have exclusive fabrics woven especially and exclusively for us which enables us to keep up with current fashions and trends within the wedding business.
Our shops
We have two shops in Essex offering our complete hire, retail, custom made and made-to-measure suit collections, but, have found that due to the internet we have attracted customers from all over the UK and the rest of the World. Which is why we are now offering a new Anthony Formal Wear retail website that can provide you with all your men’s wedding accessories requirements direct to your front door.

It didn't matter where you went you just saw the same range in every hire shop in the country. This is why we decided to start designing and manufacturing our own ranges and collections.

We also are proud that all of our accessories, waistcoats, ties, cravats, bow ties and pocket squares all all made in England. Along with all of our hire suits that are all made in Germany.
